What is a Health Coach?

A Health Coach offers guidance and inspiration to help you shift your behavior to healthier habits.  You develop a deeper understanding of the foods and lifestyle choices that work best for you, and implement lasting changes that improve your energy, balance, and health.  Health Coaches focus on teaching you to become self-sufficient by observing your body’s responses to various modifications and choosing health-promoting behaviors that work for you.

 

Where does a health coach practice?

Health Coaches can work with a Physicians Office, Wellness Centers, Community Centers, Fitness Centers or at the Health Coach's Office.

Can I use your health coaching if I am not local?

Yes!  I am excited to use technologies like Google+ Hangouts, Skype, Or Face time for your convenience.  I will also coach over the phone, but I prefer for us to see each other even if it is just on a computer or tablet screen.

 

I really need to lose weight, do you help people who are overweight?

No matter your weight goals,  we will outline a strategy to make changes to reach and maintain your healthy weight.  Most diets and programs only give you a plan or suggestions, but a health coach supports you, is available when you are struggling and even more important , will cheer you on each step of the way.  Support and accountability are key to success in health, weight loss, happiness, and life.

 

How do you differ from other coaches, programs or trainers?

My coaching is based on YOU.  Your health is NOT what you look like, or what you eat (or don’t eat) or your lab report numbers. Your health encompasses your whole life; your career, your relationships, your history, your dreams, your spirituality, and your attitude.  I get to know you, my client, in many ways so we find the best path for success.  Things I take into consideration are your personality type, what motivates you, your exercise history, in addition to the considerations most wellness practitioners take.

 

Do you give exercise advice?

Yes!  I am a personal trainer, yoga instructor and a health coach.  I can customize an exercise program that meets your situation.  Whether you have a home gym, a club membership, are an athlete, or never really exercised before, I can build a program that fits your needs and situation.

 

How much do your services cost?

I have several programs and services.  Here are some basic fees.

  • Workshops $5 and up for non-clients and Free for clients (Materials may add minimal cost)
  • $195 monthly and up for 1-on-1 coaching sessions (Scheduled 50 minutes sessions twice a month)
  • $65 monthly and up for group coaching sessions (minimum 4 and maximum 10)
  • Personal Training 1-on-1 $50 per hour and up
  • Pay in full discounts, package discounts, referral discounts and group discounts available.

 

Why do you offer 2, 3, and 12 month programs if 6 months is what you suggest is the best,

My 6 month program is the most popular because it is the most effective period to see long term results.  Some people will see great results and want to add more goals to their initial coaching sessions.  I like to offer 2-3 month programs for people with a short term goal such as a wedding, trip, or health concern.  No matter the length, the programs are personalized and success focused.

 

What do we talk about during our coaching sessions?

I always start with what is going well since our last session.  I like to keep the session positive and productive.  We discuss your goals and the steps to meet your goals.  I have a lesson plan that includes primary and secondary foods that we will discuss.  I usually give 2—4 suggestions for you to follow until our next session.  I remain in contact with you between sessions.  My job is to support you in your journey.
